We'd love to have you visit us. To arrange a visit, call the chairman ( Dr. Joel Benington) or the building secretary (Patsy O'Brien, 716-375-2129). Or, just stop in.
Here are directions to campus; at the bottom of the page is a map of campus with parking lots and the location of the Biology Department marked in red.
It is easiest to approach campus from Route 17 (now called
exit 24 (marked "Allegany - St. Bonaventure University"). At the
end of the ramp, turn south (left if coming from Rt. 17 West, right if from
Rt. 17 East). Drive about 1/2 mile to a "tee".
At the tee, turn left onto Route 417. Drive just over
2 miles, through the village of Allegany and across a high bridge over railroad
tracks. Campus is visible to the right.
Immediately at the end of the bridge take the first right
onto College Road (if you get to the traffic light, you've gone slightly
too far. Turn around and return to College Road). Take the
second left into the parking lot between the dining hall (building #15 on
the map below) and Shay-Loughlen Residence Hall (building #16).
DeLaRoche Hall is the tall brick building just beyond and to
the right of the parking lot, #17 on the map. Take the nearest entrance
and go up one flight of stairs to the first floor. The
Biology Office is room 111, straight ahead. If no one is there, try
the secretary's office (room 114) or the chairman (room 207 on the
If the parking lot is full, drive back to College Road, continue west to the West Entrance of campus, and park in the lot to the left. DeLaRoche Hall is in front of you; circle around to the front and use the same entrance marked on the map.
