St. Bonaventure faculty members attend

2002 meeting of the

National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions

            Dr. Donna Brestensky of the Chemistry Department and Fr. Peter Schneible of the Biology Department, who last year took over advisement of pre-health students, attended the meeting of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions from June 24-28 in Las Vegas.  They listened to trends and updates from representatives of 14 health professions and sessions on the applications processes for health professions. They took part in workshops on a variety of topics, including ones for new advisors, minority recruitment, ethical considerations about the use of technology in advising and discussions of admissions committees’ deliberations.  In addition, there were opportunities to meet with representatives of over 100 professional schools and hundreds of other advisors from undergraduate colleges.
