Fourier Transform Infrared instrument

This instrument was purchased in the spring of 2002 with funds donated by alumni, as well as school funds. It is intended for both teaching and research.

 

PC cluster for computational chemistry

A cluster of three PC's is used to do parallel computations of molecular properties.

 

M.S. Ed. degree in School of Education

Starting in Fall 2003, an M.S. Ed. degree is being offered by the school of education; this fifth year program will allow a student to obtain certification in high school teaching of Chemistry.

 

Frank E. Caffoe Chemistry Scholarship

This $1500 scholarship per year, established by the generous donation of an alumnus, was first awarded in fall 2002; it goes to an incoming Chemistry major based on financial need and academic merit. It is held four years and should be available again in fall 2006.

Ground broken for new addition to the science building (April 2004)

Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry instrument

This instrument was purchased in the summer of 2004 with funds from an Alden trust grant. It is intended for both teaching and research.
