Michael Faraday (1791-1867)
Michael Faraday and Professor Brande making Prussian Blue (1816)
Besides working on what would become the electric motor and inventing the first electric generator, he continued Davy's work on electrolysis, passing electrical currents through solutions. He found that the chemical effect and the amount of electrical charge passed were proportional. Today we relate the two using the Faraday constant.
