  May 4 (Friday) - Final Exam from 10:35 am to 1:05 pm in DLR 316

  Grading: four hour exams at 15% each = 60 %

final exam = 20%

quiz average = 15%

attendance = 5%

Textbook: Chemistry by Steven S. Zumdahl and Susan A. Zumdahl, Houghton Mifflin, Boston, MA 02116, 7th edition, 2007.

Attendance Policy

You are expected to attend class and be present for the scheduled exams. If you cannot attend class, it is your responsibility to obtain notes from a classmate. If you cannot be present for a scheduled exam, it is your responsibility to contact me and make other arrangements, preferably before the exam is given or at least on the day of the exam.  I do not give makeup exams. If you miss an exam and do not contact me in a timely manner, your grade for that exam will be zero. To contact me, call my phone number at school, 375-2116, and leave a voice mail message. Thank you.

Cell phones

Please turn your cell phone off during our class time.

Calculator

Please purchase a scientific calculator (graphing ability not required) for use during this and other science classes and bring the calculator with you to lecture, lab and exams.

Cheating

Anyone caught cheating during an exam will receive a zero for that exam. Anyone caught cheating a second time will receive an F for the course.

Disabilities

Students with disabilities who believe that they may need accommodations in this class are encouraged to contact the Disability Support Services Office, Doyle room 26, at 375-2065 as soon as possible to better ensure that such accommodations are implemented in a timely fashion.

Grading scale

A: 93% to 100%   C+: 77% to 79%            D+: 67% to 69%

A-: 90% to 92%     C: 73% to 76%             D: 63% to 66%

B+: 87% to 89%     C-: 70% to 72%            D-: 60% to 62%

B: 83% to 86%                                                F: below 60%

B-: 80% to 82%
