The handout entitled “Safety and Laboratory Rules” must be read, understood, signed, and returned to the lab instructor before any work may begin.
Lab reports are
due at the end of the lab period on the day each experiment is performed. Late
reports receive a penalty of 5% per weekday overdue. No reports accepted that
are over one week late; exceptions are at the discretion of the instructor.
You are expected to attend lab
and to be present for scheduled exams. If
you cannot be present for an experiment or lab exam, it is your responsibility
to contact me and make other arrangements, preferably before the lab is
performed or the exam is given, or at least on the day of the lab or the exam. I
do not give makeup exams. If you miss a lab or an exam and do not contact me in
a timely manner, your grade for that lab or exam will be zero. To contact me,
call my phone number at school, 375-2116, and leave a voice mail message. Thank
you.
Please turn your cell phone off
during our class time.
Please purchase a scientific
calculator (graphing ability not required) for use during this and other science
classes and bring the calculator with you to lecture, lab and exams.
Write your own lab report. Do not use other sources without attribution. Anyone caught cheating on a lab report will receive a zero for that report.
Anyone caught cheating during an
exam will receive a zero for that exam. Anyone caught cheating a second time
will receive an F for the course.
Students with disabilities who
believe that they may need accommodations in this class are encouraged to
contact the Disability Support Office, Doyle room 26, at 375-2066, as soon as
possible to ensure that such accommodations are implemented in a timely fashion.
