Quantum Weirdness

Neils Bohr said,"Anyone who is not shocked by quantum theory has not understood it."

Let's re-examine the two slit experiment.

Consider doing the experiment by sending electrons one at a time towards the barrier. Wave behavior is observed if both slits are open; particle behavior is observed if only one slit is open. How does an individual electron know the difference?

Einstein believed there was a hidden variable that was unaccounted for ("God does not play dice").

Bohr believed that both results exist (quantum superposition) until an observation (or recording) is made (the Copenhagen interpretation).

What is the nature of reality? Do these problems extend to our everyday world?

Are living and dead cats superimposed?
