Molecular visualization is very important in Chemistry. Currently one of the most widely used molecular viewers is Jmol. (note: Because Jmol is written in Java, you will need Java installed on your computer. Java is a free download from Sun.)
Jmol is a free download from its site on SourceForge. There is also a user community site. Jmol can be used as an application on your desktop or as an applet in a webpage.
Some interesting examples of the latter: Molecules 360, and Proteopedia.
Other molecular viewers: ProteinExplorer; also see MolVisIndex.
