Comparison of entries from Thomas Merton’s typescript and manuscript
Fitzgerald Fileto entries from the publications The Secular Journal (1959) and Run to the Mountain (1995)

This chart compares the dated entries in the Fitzgerald File to those in The Secular Journal and Run to the Mountain, and shows where there is a match both in date and subject matter. The matches are usually not a simple matter of transcription from one source to another, but rather involves editing. This chart also shows that there is at least one entry in Run to the Mountain that does not appear in the other two sources, and quite a number of entries that appear in Run to the Mountain and The Secular Journal that do not appear in the Fitzgerald File. This shows that there is another, unidentified source that was used as the basis for Run to the Mountain.
