From a file folder marked: "Asian II remnants". Composed of portions of a draft version of the Asian Journal which was literally cut-up during a process of editing. The text is not complete, having both missing pages and pages that are missing portions of text. Most pages are carbon copy typescript on thin typing paper. Most pages belong to a single draft, but some are from other revisions. This is the case since there are discrepancies between numbered pages, and some pages are actual typescript.

There are 11 chapter numbers, but only 10 titles are given (the first and fifth are not given). The chapter titles are as follows: 2. Prometheus, 3. A Promethean Theology, 4. Adam in Paradise, 6. Parrhesia, 7. Spirit in Exile, 8. The Second Adam (given twice, with variant text), 9. Life in Christ, 10. Wisdom in Mystery (which is crossed out and in its place written: Sacramental Illumination), 11. Called Out of Darkness.

The third leaf is again typed on one side and in the form of notes. On the reverse side of the third leaf is a faded, typed list of poets and poems that presumably is from an anthology that Merton was working on.
