The St. Bonaventure Cemetery is a beautiful place, especially in the fall and spring.  People of the community come to tend their family members' burial sites and to take walks to enjoy the scenery.  The St. Bonaventure Golf Course and the Clubhouse Restaurant are also nearby and can only be accessed through the cemetery, which adds to the number of visitors.  These pictures were taken in the fall of 2006, and are organized in the following groups: The Front of the Cemetery, St. Nicholas Cemetery at the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, the Back of the Cemetery, Franciscan Sisters, Franciscan Friars, Map of the Cemetery, and Francis "Griff" Griffin.  Many of St. Bonaventure University's community are buried in the cemetery.  To view their gravestones and links to their web sites go to Biographies.

St. Nicholas Cemetery at the St. Bonaventure Cemetery
St. Nicholas Cemetery was the first cemetery in the area and was moved to the St. Bonaventure Cemetery when more space was needed.  Note the weathering of the gravestones.  Granite stones are now required to avoid this effect of time and environment.
