Western New York Archivists was formerly known as Religious Archivists of Western New York.  It was organized for archivists of religious collections, but as the group developed, other special archival repositories have been incorporated into the association.  These collections include records of educational institutions, religious bodies, and social services such as colleges, dioceses, religious communities, hospitals, etc. located on the Niagara Frontier. 

 Members meet informally at different repositories several times a year.  These meetings provide a forum for presentations and discussions of important issues in the archival field, an opportunity to share experiences and information, and a support system for those who work alone in small archival centers.

Brief announcements

Set dates and meeting places for 2009/2010 (bring your calendar)

Meeting Topic:  We agreed that we would be prepared to share information concerning the “founding” of our respective institutions and the ways in which we document them.  Each person/repository is to prepare a one-sheet handout, bring some photos, or prepare a short (10-12”) Powerpoint presentation.  

N.B.  If you are doing a Powerpoint presentation and are not bringing your own equipment, please let me know.  Also be advised that what I have available here is Powerpoint 2003; not compatible with newer version.
