Library Computer Labs
The
library has a 24 seat computer lab on the main floor which features PC
computers and high speed laser printers. A color inkjet printer
is also available by asking the lab assistant on duty. The lab
is staffed by student lab assistants, who are backed up by full-time
library and technology services staff members.
The lower level lab has 27 PC computers
and a high speed laser printer. The room is arranged in a
classroom style, and features a ceiling-mounted computer projector and
an instructors station. The instructors station has a PC, and
the station is also equipped to allow instructors to easily connect
their own laptops to the projector as well. There are also two
whiteboards in the room. This room can be scheduled by
instructors through either the library or Technology Services.
The labs are open all hours that the
library building is open, including certain periods over holidays. The
main level lab never closes for classes, while the lower level lab is
closed whenever a class session is scheduled in the room. Library
hours are listed on the library's home page.
Verizon Digital Media and Video Conference Center
Through a generous grant from
Verizon and its partnership with Technology Services, the library is
pleased to offer enhanced digital media services in the room adjacent
to the library computer lab. Among the services offered in the
center are digitizing from VHS, video editing, and scanning. The
center is also equipped with a Scantron to scan "bubble"
sheets and a wide format poster printer.
The video conference center is to the
right of the front entrance. This center can connect to any
similar unit anywhere in the world that uses ISDN video conferencing
technology.
