Portfolio Help
- What you want to do soon is look
through the rubric on the Web site below and identify
the types of things you will need for your portfolio.
- Save just about everything
you do in your coursework and see how it can
integrate with your portfolio.
- Keep in mind that this is a
graduate portfolio which is primarily about your
graduate studies.
- The more items you have
collected for your portfolio by the time you start
EDUC 505, the more progress you can make during that
course regarding your portfolio.
- You will be taking EDUC 505,
where you will set up your portfolio and learn
strategies for adding to it throughout the rest of your
program.
- Follow-up portfolio help is
available when you're trying to finish up.
- Check the portfolio resource site
at
http://web.sbu.edu/friedsam/educ505sample
Finding Books and Other Materials in
the Library
- Use
FRIAR, our online catalog.
-
FRIAR contains records for print and other items
that are physically owned by the library.
- Electronic journals can be
found by using the
journal locator.
- Be sure to write down the
color code for the item--consult the signs or use
the arrows on the main staircase to find the right
floor where your item is.
Finding Articles
- Use a variety of databases,
depending upon your topic. Good databases to start with
include:
Citing
-
Noodletools
- Noodletools will be upgraded
by approx. Oct. 1 with the latest updates (the
APA Style Guide to Electronic References, which
is an updated version of section 4.16 of the 5th
