Finding Books and Other Materials in the Library

• Use FRIAR, our online catalog.
  • FRIAR contains records for print and other items that are physically owned by the library.
  • Electronic journals can be found by using the journal locator.
  • Be sure to write down the color code for the item--consult the signs or use the arrows on the main staircase to find the right floor where your item is.
  • Many of the items for your class will be found in the RED or ORANGE sections on the lower level, or in the GREEN section upstairs (art materials)

Finding Articles

• Use both the general databases for some of your research, and be sure to use ATLAS when you're looking for subject-specific resources in theology.
  • Academic Search Premier (Login links: On Campus OR Off Campus)--note the new image thumbnails that alert you to articles that contain images!
  • ProQuest Research Library
  • ATLAS (Login links: On Campus OR Off Campus)
    • Tutorial on using ATLA (requires Flash player software)

Finding Images

• A Google search will turn up many sites with religious card type art--with very little information on the artist or time period. However, if you know specifics about an image you are searching for, you might want to try Google Image Search: http://www.google.com/imghp?hl=en
