I. Starting the AutoSketch
Program
step 1: If the computer is not already on, turn on the
monitor and the computer.
step 2: Double click on the AutoSketch
icon to start the AutoSketch program.
II. Sending a File to the Instructor Over the Network
A drawing file can be sent to the instructor
as an attachment to an e-mail message.
step 1: Go to webmail.sbu.edu/exchange in Internet
Explorer.
step 2: Create a new e-mail message addressed to
jkiefer@sbu.edu.
step 3: Identify the assignment you’re submitting in the
subject line.
step 4: Attach the drawing file you are submitting.
step 5: Send.
A note about
file names: Use a consistent naming
scheme for the files that you submit to the instructor. The file name should
uniquely identify not only yourself, but also the assignment number. Thusly,
use your three (or two) initials dash assignment number: jk-04b.skf . [Autosketch will attach the skf
extension.]
III. Assignment 1 [Due 17 January]
Start the AutoSketch
program, and open one of the sample drawings. Save the sample drawing with a
new file name, as described in the note about file names in Part II. Close the
drawing, and close AutoSketch. Send the copy
of the sample drawing that you selected to the instructor, as described above
in Part II. Don’t forget to save your renamed copy of the file to a diskette or another location and erase it from the
hard drive. Don’t erase the original sample!
