The study of how individuals influence and are influenced by their social environments. Topics include social learning, attitude formation and change, interpersonal attraction, social exchange, conformity, leadership, and social groups.

215. Maladaptive Behavior
Development and structure of abnormal behavior reactions, their etiology and outcomes. Attention is also given to diagnostic techniques and therapies.

224. Psychology of Adolescence
Development of adolescent behavior with emphasis on the determinants of patterns of adolescent activity.

310. Organizational and Industrial Psychology
An introduction to the psychology of the individual within the organization. The level of analysis will extend from individual psychology to the social psychology or groups and larger social structures.

312. Social and Emotional Development
A study of the developmental of social and emotional changes across the life span. Specific topics include infant-parent attachment, peer relationships, temperament, mid-life transitions, and personality and social development during late adulthood. Basic theoretical and research issues in developmental psychology will also be covered.

313. Interpersonal Relations
An inquiry into theories and empirical studies of the dyad. The dynamics of the development and maintenance of close interpersonal relationships are emphasized. Principal topics include attraction, intimacy, and verbal-nonverbal communication, conflict and conflict resolution. Marriage and alternative dyadic life styles are critically discussed.

433. Psychology of Personality
A survey of the various approaches to the study of personality. Also included are the determination of personality development and the methods of appraising personality.
