Faculty Teaching Elsewhere (March 1992)

The Faculty Status and Welfare Handbook (Article IV, Section H) deals with faculty who wish “to engage in the pursuit of remunerative interests outside the university, which pursuit takes a significant amount of time.” This paragraph expands on that section of the Faculty Handbook specifically to faculty who wish to teach courses on a regular basis at other institutions. Any faculty member wishing to teach at another college or university must seek and receive written permission to do so from his or her Chair, Dean and the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Permission will be granted only in extraordinary circumstances.
